HOURS CLOCK
n hours clock, or more commonly known as a clock or analog clock, is a timepiece designed to visually represent the passage of time using a system of rotating hands that point to specific hour markers on a dial. Typically, an hours clock has the following components:
-
Clock Face (Dial): The round or sometimes square surface that displays the time. It’s usually divided into 12 hour sections. These hour markers are commonly numbered 1 to 12, or sometimes marked with lines indicating each hour.
-
Hour Hand: The shorter hand, which rotates around the clock face and points to the current hour. It moves more slowly than the minute hand, completing a full rotation every 12 hours.
-
Minute Hand: The longer hand, which points to the current minute. It rotates around the dial much faster, completing a full rotation every hour (or every 60 minutes).
-
Second Hand: Some clocks include a second hand, a thin, often sweeping hand that moves continuously around the clock to indicate the passing of seconds.
